Gili Trawangan is the busiest of the three Gili islands. There are no motorised vehicles here — bicycles and cidomo (horse carts) are the main transport.
How to get there
From Bangsal Harbour in Lombok it takes around 20–30 minutes by fast boat. From Bali, depart from Padang Bai or Serangan; the crossing takes 1.5–2 hours.
What to bring
- Reef-safe sunscreen
- Cash — ATMs are limited
- Water shoes for snorkelling
- A light jacket for night crossings
Must-try activities
Snorkelling at Turtle Point, sunset at Sunset Beach, and cycling around the island. For a calmer experience, consider staying two nights.
